From Battle Angel Alita Wiki
Jacco (ジャッコ, Jakko) is a character in Battle Angel Alita: Last Order. He is one of five named Type-V mutants in Last Order and only appears in a series of flashbacks centering on Caerula Sanguis (then known as Vilma Fachiri) that reveal how the world of Battle Angel Alita came to be more than 400 years before the events of Last Order.
[edit] History
Jacco was one of the last surviving Type-V mutants who survived an event known as the Catastophe in ES 55 when a giant meteorite impacted Japan and wiped out civilization as well as The Society, causing a prolonged impact winter. Led by Victor Byron, the last leader of The Society, this handful of Type-V mutants roamed the Earth, moving from place to place, preying on isolated pockets of humans and wiping them out before moving on. The group arrived in the former New York City in ES 55.
After Vilma’s prolonged disappearance in ES 69, Jacco became disgusted with Victor’s lapse into deep depression and contemplated challenging him for the leadership of the Cognate. Victor’s willingness to kill him after he insulted Vilma when all the Cognate members save her were trapped within Farrell Shelter and her forcing Victor to swear not to kill Keiran and John Farrell make him distrustful of Vilma, and he took her later meeting with John Farrell in ES 126 more than 50 years later as a sign that she plans to betray them again. Jacco tried to shoot Arthur Farrell, but his bullet was skillfully blocked by Vilma. He then fought her, forcing her to close on him to bring her sword to bear. Vilma was unable to block all his shots, but Jacco lost his footing on some icicles, which caused him to cease firing for a split second. Vilma exploited this with deadly effect, knocking his guns away. Before Jacco could fire two backup pistols he had concealed in his sleeves, his arms were cut to pieces and he was decapitated.
[edit] Abilities
Jacco was a skilled gunman who wielded dual Glock 17s in combat. The main problem he faced in the post-apocalyptic world was how to maintain and replenish his ammunition supply. In spite of this, and although he also had a knife, he preferred to stick with guns. During his fight with Vilma, she describes him as a master who incorporates feints along with his shots that are intended for more deadly effect.
